Validation Webinar

The Feminist Tax Initiative under the auspices of TJNA and NAWI Africa will be hosting a webinar for the online validation of the background paper titled “Towards a Pan-African Feminist Taxation Framework”, on 17 October 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm (EAT).

The validation meeting will bring together feminist economists, tax justice advocates, civil society actors, and policymakers to critically engage with the paper’s propositions, offer feedback, and co-create pathways for advocacy and implementation.

The paper offers a bold reimagining of fiscal justice through a Feminist Political Economy (FPE) lens. It interrogates how Africa’s taxation systems, shaped by colonial legacies, patriarchal structures, and neoliberal economic models can be transformed to advance equity and justice.

The objectives of the webinar are to present the Pan-African Feminist Taxation Framework to stakeholders, gather feedback and recommendations to refine the framework, build consensus on its principles and strategies, and identify both opportunities and challenges for its implementation.

By convening diverse voices, this process seeks to ensure that feminist perspectives are centered in Africa’s fiscal justice agenda and that taxation systems contribute to building inclusive and equitable societies.
